Students will build several layers of earth, including a house on the top layer. In each layer, they can see evidence of the past, including artifacts from human civilizations and fossils from both land and sea prehistoric creatures that indicate how the landscape has changed over time. Students will then build an imaginary fossil and consider what environment this animal could have lived in. Afterwards, they will share their fossil models and relate their experience to images of real-life fossils. An optional evaluative prompt asks students to revisit the lesson's big question.
Učenci bodo zgradili več plasti zemlje, vključno z hišo na zgornji plasti. V vsaki plasti bodo lahko videli dokaze preteklosti, vključno z artefakti človeških civilizacij in fosili kopenskih in morskih prazgodovinskih bitij, ki kažejo, kako se je pokrajina spreminjala skozi čas.
