Students will build a golf gadget that hits a golf ball and then observe the ball's motion when the gadget arm hits it from different heights. They will then build a hole and use observations from their first tests to decide how to hit the ball to make it drop easily into the hole. Students will share how they used the motion pattern to predict the perfect putt that makes the ball drop into the hole. Afterwards, students will relate their experience to real-life examples of motion patterns. An optional evaluative prompt asks students to describe one motion pattern they observed and how they used it to predict future motion.
Učenci bodo izdelali golfski pripomoček, ki udari golfsko žogico, nato pa opazovali gibanje žogice, ko jo roka pripomočka udari z različnih višin. Nato bodo izdelali luknjo in na podlagi opazovanj iz prvih poskusov odločili, kako udariti žogico, da bo zlahka padla v luknjo. Učenci bodo predstavili, kako so uporabili vzorec gibanja za napovedovanje idealnega udarca, s katerim žogica pade v luknjo. Nato bodo svoje izkušnje povezali z dejanskimi primeri vzorcev gibanja. V izbirnem ocenjevalnem vprašanju se od učencev zahteva, da opišejo en vzorec gibanja, ki so ga opazili, in kako so ga uporabili za napovedovanje prihodnjega gibanja.
